Welcome to the world of Risogaku, traditional music in the modern world where you can find the new possibilities of the shamisen.

"Risogaku" is shamisen music created in 1971. This style of composition uses techniques characteristic to the shamisen and is based on songs which have been passed down for generations, to which modern lyrics, singing techniques, playing techniques and tunes are added. The program will present pieces illustrating dialogs between people and nature under the theme of the Sumida River, the Tama River and others.
